Endurocide® Antimicrobial Plus Curtains already have market-leading test results against bacteria, fungi and spores. In fact, we test against more pathogens than any other curtain manufacturer. That means our curtains trap and kill pathogens on the surface for up to two years.
As you know, Endurocide® Antimicrobial Plus Curtains have extensive test results against bacteria, fungi and spores. These tests have been done to show their ability to both trap and kill pathogens on the surface of the curtain.
Until recently, there were no tests available to show a textile’s effectiveness against viruses. In these tests’ absence, we used European liquid suspension test EN 14476 on the patented liquid formula used to coat Endurocide® Curtains’ fabric. We met EN 14476 with >99.99% reduction rates against:
- Vaccinia virus
- Human Coronavirus
- Measles virus
- Influenza A virus
However, testing protocols have moved on in recent years. We’re now happy to be report that Endurocide® Antimicrobial Plus Curtains have been tested according to international standard ISO 18184: Determination of antiviral activity of textile products against Modified Vaccinia Ankara (MVA). The report showed a >99.9% reduction in 15 minutes and concluded “Endurocide® Antimicrobial Plus Curtain demonstrated excellent antiviral activity.”
MVA is a surrogate virus, commonly used for enveloped virus testing. This means, if a product is proven to be effective against MVA, it is recognised as effective against all enveloped viruses – including Coronavirus, Influenza, Measles, SARS and Monkeypox.
While this result is not a surprise – we already know how good our curtains are – it’s great to be able to confirm Endurocide® Antimicrobial Plus Curtains are effective against enveloped viruses!
